Privacy Policy

1 General

1.1 This Privacy Policy applies to all information that you disclose to us, and/or that we collect regarding you as a user of our website. This policy tells you:

  • the information we collect about you
  • how that information is utilized
  • what information we share with others service providers

1.2 Our services sometimes link to services run by others. Those providers have their own privacy and cookies policies – the information you give them will follow their policies and not ours. When that is the case, your consent will be explicitly requested.

2 Protecting information

2.1 We only seek information about you as part of our effort to improve our services and we design our data collection around this principle.

3 Information we collect

3.1 We collect data you provide directly to us.

Account data. If you sign up for an account, we will collect data you give us related to your account, including your username and password.
Other data you share through the Services. You may provide us with data when you fill in a form, register for a consultation, update or add information to your Account, respond to surveys, provide us with feedback, or use other features of the Services.

3.2 We collect some technical information from devices and web browsers you use to interact with our services.

Log Data. We automatically receive and record information from your device or web browser when you interact with the Services. For example, we collect your internet protocol (IP) address, mobile device ID, time zone setting, language preference, operating system, platform, internet service provider (ISP), and links you have clicked on. If you sign up for an Account, we also create a user ID that indirectly identifies you. We use this information to collect data about your activities through the Services. We associate information that indirectly identifies you with your Account (if you have one) and other information we have collected about you.

4 Information retention

4.1 We only hold your information for as long as we are providing the services that you interacted with to provide it or have a valid reason to keep it. We consider what type of information it is, the volume collected, how sensitive it might be, and any legal requirements. We design our processes to delete your information when we no longer have to retain it.

5 How we use your information

5.1 We have to have a “lawful basis for processing” your information. Sometimes we may ask your permission for specific actions, such as when you subscribe to receiving notifications from us. Other times, when you would reasonably expect us to use your information, we don’t ask your permission, as long as the law agrees that it is fine to use.

  • To personalise our services around your preferences and help us understand what kind of services you may use

6 Sharing your information

6.1 We do not sell your personal information. We sometimes share it with others when:
We share personal information with other members of the Seefar group if the user requests to engage with Seefar services other than the Safer Migration page
We use others to support our services. We often use other organisations to process your personal information on our behalf, for example to help us prepare emails to you in line with your preferences. We make sure that these other organisations have policies and provisions in place to protect your personal information that are at least as strong as ours.
We are required by law.

7 Deleting your information

7.1 You can delete personal information about you by requesting so at the moment you delete your account. Keep in mind that we will keep a record of your interactions with our services, but it cannot be linked back to you.

8 Your rights

8.1 You have the right to request a copy of your personal information. You also have the right to ask us to correct personal information that is incorrect, to delete it, or to request that we use it for certain purposes. In some cases, we may not be able to help, for example, if the law tells us that we cannot.

9.1 Cookies are small collections of data that may be stored on your device when using our services. We use cookies and the other kinds of data we collect to help us to:
